Mildred Scheel was a German doctor and the second wife of former German president Walter Scheel. Mildred Scheel devoted her life to the fight against cancer. She founded the cancer support organization "Deutsche Krebshilfe" (German Cancer Society) in 1974. In 1985 she died from complications of cancer. In 1980, long time friend Andy Warhol immortalized her image with a limited edition screen-print published to raise funds for the German Cancer Society. This is the beautiful double image of Mildred.
